How to prepare your vehicle for shipping
A little preparation goes a long way. Follow these steps before pickup to make sure your vehicle travels safely and arrives in the same condition it left.

Clean your vehicle inside and out
Wash the exterior so the condition report is accurate, and remove or secure loose items from the interior. A clean car makes pre- and post-transit inspection easier and faster.

Remove personal belongings
Personal items left inside are generally not covered by carrier cargo insurance and add weight. Remove valuables, electronics, paperwork, and anything that could shift during transit.

Check for and document existing damage
Note any dents, scratches, or chips and take clear photos from every angle before pickup. Share them with the driver during the condition report so there's no confusion later.

Secure or remove exterior accessories
Remove custom antennas, roof racks, spoilers, or bike racks that could be damaged or damage other vehicles. Fold in mirrors and retract antennas where possible.

Check fluids, battery, and tires
Ensure fluids aren't leaking, the battery is charged and secured, and tires are properly inflated. For inoperable vehicles, tell us in advance so we send the right loading equipment.

Leave a quarter tank of gas
You only need enough fuel for loading and unloading — about a quarter tank. Less fuel means less weight and a safer, more efficient transport.

Disable alarms and toll tags
Turn off your car alarm so it doesn't trigger during loading, and remove toll transponders and parking passes to avoid accidental charges while the vehicle is in transit.

Have keys ready
The driver needs a set of keys to load, unload, and move the vehicle. Hand keys to the driver at pickup and get them back at delivery after the final inspection.
